everything old is new again

the incoherent ramblings of a struggling artist, costume designer, spinner, knitter, beader, regular single gal in the twin cities of minneapolis st. paul.

A diagnosis, at last

Finally the docs have figured out what's wrong with me, it's not as bad as I'd feared but it's still, not great. At least it offers the hope of a cure now.
My friend Colleen is looking into alternative stuff for me, let's see how that works.

I have a wicked bruise on my arm from the IV-the nurse popped the back of my vein when she pumped me full of drugs-maybe I'll photograph it today.

Moving is going along, I should be done around 6 PM tonight. Then I'm going to see the new Firefly movie, which should kick BOOTAY! I'm not a HUGE Firefly fan, but I did watch it while it was on and enjoyed it very much. What's wrong with FOX-why do they cancel all the good shows and keep all the crappy ones?

I'm saying this as a woman who really hasn't had a working TV for 2 years....

floating along

Haven't eaten since sunday night due to a medical procedure that's being peformed at 2:30 today. YIPPEE!! I dreamt of food for the few hours I did sleep last night. I'm excited about eating again. I do like to eat.

Am trying to get ready to move, I haven't unpacked many boxes from my move in July so that's good, but I do need to re-pack A LOT of things that have made their way out into my apartment. And clean the old place.

Fortunately I have a couple of days to do this. I have a lot of stuff.

At the playwright's group I hosted this weekend, one of the guys said 'Life is a series of crises and we just get through them and move on to the next crisis.' He's right, and my crises are rather small, but they are mine.

Never enough time

Yeah, maybe if I gave up sleep, I'd have enough time to get everything DONE.

I need to spend some dedicated crafting time SOON, I've got two craft shows coming up, and a lot of sewing to do, for my website as well.

My other fantastic business idea has stalled for a few days due to lack of fundage, but I did go ahead and register my domain name. I now have 3 commerce websites and one for the theatre company. And am not making money off of a single one. UGH.

Night two of auditions is tonight. I hope the men who have been hiding in the woodwork show up tonight. Or we're gonna be in TROUBBBBBBALLLLLLL!!!!!

been a while

it's been a while since i've posted. my little world has been rocked, on several fronts. i attended two funerals last week, nothing i could write would pay tribute to the people that were lost, so i'll just say that phyllis and sean were two very special people, that i didn't know well enough, who will be sorely missed. the katrina disaster and aftermath are also completely heartbreaking, and it boggles the mind to think how something like this could have happened. well, we all know W-ho to blame for the lack of a federal response plan.
i am VERY much looking forward to this weekend, my friend the pipster will be around for a FANTASTIC wedding, i'm super excited to see and talk to her (HEY GIRL!) since i missed her this summer. i'm doing the flowers for this wedding which is something that i really love, and what i'll probably end up doing if i can get my crap together and open a store already......
i found a different apartment, i'll be living in the top floor of a house in st. paul, with a very lovely family of two tween agers and their super hip mom. i will have a dedicated studio space for the first time in my life and i'm just about ready to scream i'm so excited! yipppppppeee!!
no cats though, they are allergic. so i'm going to have to be happy with the family's mice.
